Emma Smith - Founder
I have had a love for animals from a very young age, growing up with
rabbits and guinea pigs, and horse riding on a regular basis. I have a
horse called Dixie who I trained myself, and we have competed at
national level in Showing. We were asked to be in a film I had to
gallop Dixie up the beach, we also did dressage and show jumping at
lower-level competitions for fun. She is now happily retired and still a
big part of my life. I very sadly lost my beautiful dog Lily in December
2018, she was a big part of this business from helping the visiting
dogs settle in for dog boarding, to having fun and entertaining the
dogs on the group walks. With Lily I attended dog obedience training
and agility.
Sky joined me in the Summer of 2023, she was my inspiration to get
the puppy classes and training off the ground. I now regular show her
at premier and championship level, and we competed at Crufts 2025!
She is a beautiful dog who helps the boarding dogs to settle in, and
always by my feet or on my lap to help with the paperwork.
In the past I have volunteered at the RSPCA and Conquest Riding for
the Disabled. I have qualifications in: Canine Fist Aid Certified;
Diploma in Canine Coaching; Diploma in Dog Walking, Boarding and
Care; Puppy Care, Health and Coaching Certified; Puppy
Development Certified; Diploma in Dog Walking & Canine Care
Professional; Level 3 Dog Grooming Professional; and Loose Lead
Walking Certified.
My degree from Bath University was in Sport Health and Fitness but
my love was with animals. E S Pet Care was originally called B & B 4
Pets, I provided home-from-home dog boarding in the Taunton area,
then in 2011 I founded E S Pet Care. When I was running my sports
business, my clients kept asking me to look after their pet(s) or to
walk their dog while they were away, and this was how E S Pet Care
was established.
